The 49ers had a tough injury to deal with on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. They lost kicker Jake Moody, who had to leave the game after he got hurt. He suffered the injury after trying to make a tackle on the kickoff in the second quarter. That left them with no kicker for the rest of the game. They lost a close one to the Cardinals, 24-23.

Following the loss, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan let everyone know that Moody has a high ankle sprain.

“Yeah, they’ll work on that stuff right away,” Shanahan said, via David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com. “With kickers, they’re almost independent contractors, so we’ll get them in as fast as possible and get the best guy we can. I’m sure it’ll have to be for a few weeks. I’m not sure [about the severity of the injury], but I know they told me a high-ankle, and that’s never soon.”

Moody was seen in a walking boot after the game and he’s set to undergo an MRI soon for further evaluation of the injury.
