Jalen Carter prediction still has him doing what Eagles fans expect in five years

Philadelphia Eagles fans hope that defensive tackle Jalen Carter will change absolutely nothing he has been doing in the next five years.

FOX Sports NFL reporter Ben Arthur unveiled his 2020s future half-decade team, predicting the best players from 2025 through 2029. Carter was included on his list as one of the defensive linemen.

"Carter’s dominance in the Eagles’ path to a Super Bowl LIX feels like a tell of what’s to come for the former No. 9 overall pick. The rising star was a Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro honoree last season."

What will the next five years be with Carter in Philly?

One thing is for certain: he'll be expensive. Carter should land a new contract extension with the team within the next five years which could be in the range of $30-40 million per year. That's an investment that is well worth it.

Carter has been blunt about his self-assessment and wanting to play better. It has been a topic of discussion this offseason that if can learn the position, he could actually get better from Jeremiah Trotter Sr. and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Talk about a scary though.

It seems wild to think that he can get better, as he was a Pro Bowler and an All-Pro last year. He's been considered one of the top five defensive tackles in the NFL over the last couple of years and has been compared to Aaron Donald with his potential.

While there are some things he needs to work on with his run-stopping abilities, his pass-rushing skills are through the roof for a defensive tackle. Expect both of those to only get better with age.

The Eagles will also likely ensure that Carter remains with fellow defensive tackle Jordan Davis, as the pair has been lethal together. Davis' run-stopping skills and Carter's ability to apply pressure on the quarterback make for a winning pair.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has been meticulous about his offseason moves in anticipation of paying Carter big money in the next five years. Don't expect Carter to leave anytime soon and to continue in his pursuit to be the undisputed number one defensive tackle in the NFL.
