Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown have stellar games against Pittsburgh

In Philadelphia, every day is filled with rainbows and red balloons. The Phillies are in the World Series. The Eagles (7-0) are unbeaten.

Perhaps lost in the mix of another win by the unbeaten Eagles were career games by WR A.J. Brown and QB Jalen Hurts.

In the easy win over the Steelers, Brown caught six passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 26 yards per catch. It was the best game of the All-Pro's career.

"I could have had an even better day," Brown said, per NFL.com, adding, "I'm always trying to get a bigger bag."

Hurts completed 19 passes for 285 yards and threw four touchdowns. His 140.6 passer rating was a career best.

The potential of a Brown-Hurts connection is why the Eagles gave up a first-round pick to Tennessee to get him.

With 9:34 left in the first quarter, Hurts hit Brown for a leaping 39-yard touchdown. Brown wasn't open -- he was double covered. Hurts would never have made that throw last season. This season, he has no problems putting the ball up for grabs and letting the 6-foot-1 Brown do his thing.

Brown's second touchdown was a bit easier. Hurts hit him in stride in the second quarter from 27 yards.  Brown was well covered , but it didn't really matter. Before the first half was over, Hurts would find Brown for yet another score, this time for 29 yards. season.

Brown's receiving yardage matched Pittsburgh's passing number. Brown was responsible for 38 percent of the Eagles' 401 yards.

Hurts trusts Brown 100 percent and could lean on him even more against the Texans on Thursday night.
