In five days Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles will be back on the field for Super Bowl LIX with revenge on their minds.
Just two years ago, Hurts and the Eagles were on the wrong end of a 38-35 contest against their opponent in this year's Super Bowl: the Kansas City Chiefs. Hurts admitted that loss to Kansas City "lit a fire" in the star quarterback.
"I've learned so much," he said. "It's the same as any other game and, you know, I think the moments are the moments. But ultimately, you know, every game has its lessons -- good, bad or indifferent. So, just being able to become wiser, grow and mature and take all these lessons in for the next season and the next games. It's had a great driving force. It lit a flame, lit a fire in me, and to have this opportunity again is exactly what you work for."
Ahead of the Super Bowl, Hurts' academic prowess made a return to the spotlight. 247Sports wrote up a post detailing the 3.40 GPA of the former Alabama and Oklahoma quarterback ahead of the Super Bowl, citing details from Senior Class Award:
Jalen Hurts is currently enrolled as a master’s level student in human relations. A graduate transfer, Hurts received his bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Alabama in December of 2018. He originally enrolled at Alabama in January 2016 and finished his undergraduate degree in three years. Since enrolling at OU in January 2019, Hurts has completed 15 hours of graduate credit with another 9 enrolled in for the fall of 2019. He has a 3.40 cumulative GPA in his graduate degree work.
Hurts and the Eagles will take the field for Sunday's game against the Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on Fox.
