Jalen Hurts did not show a single ounce of excitement as the Philadelphia Eagles stole a win Sunday over the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams were on the verge of upsetting the Eagles in the final seconds of their Week 3 clash at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. With the Eagles holding on to a 27-26 lead, Rams kicker Joshua Karty lined up for a potential game-winning 44-yard field goal.
As fate would have it, Karty failed to get the kick off cleanly. Philly defensive tackle Jordan Davis got a hand on the ball and returned it for a touchdown to give the Eagles a stunning 33-26 victory.
Both the crowd and the Eagles’ sideline were jumping for joy as Davis sprinted to set the record for the heaviest player to return a TD for 50+ yards. Hurts didn’t share their enthusiasm. The reigning Super Bowl MVP was stone-faced throughout the entire play.

Hurts was likely still reeling over the Eagles’ putrid start that led to them needing a miraculous comeback in the first place. Philadelphia started the game with a touchdown, then proceeded to punt for four straight possessions to close out the first half. The home team trailed 19-7 at halftime.
The Eagles QB started the second half with a fumble at the Eagles’ 13 that allowed the Rams to quickly extend their lead to 26-7 one play later.
“Regardless, it’s always good to get a win,” Hurts said during his postgame interview. “It’s always good to get a win. And if that doesn’t show you what type of team we are, then I don’t know what does.
“We completely did it to ourselves in the first half. Completely. Absolutely, completely did to ourselves, and that’s something we’ve got to fix. It’s as simple as that. It’s unacceptable.”
Hurts was able to redeem himself after the fumble and poor first half. He led the Eagles to three touchdown drives the rest of the way, with Davis adding one more in the closing seconds.
Hurts went 21/32 for 226 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown on 9 carries.
