Now that the 2025 NFL Draft has concluded, and what most teams are focused on is the next season, there is still one item on the agenda to complete an exciting 2024 season.
The annually scheduled visit to the White House for the Super Bowl champions has been scheduled for April 28, and the Philadelphia Eagles will be in attendance after a dominating victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, ending the hope for the league's first ever three-peat.
The Super Bowl MVP and former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts will not be able to attend the White House visit due to a 'scheduling conflict,' reports say.
During an interview by Time, he was asked if he would be making the trip, to which he declined to answer while smirking and looking around.
A non-mandatory visit is not a surprise for players to not attend, and this is not the first time that the Eagles have had disagreements with the current President Donald Trump.
When the Eagles defeated the Patriots in the Super Bowl in 2018, Trump canceled the visit once he learned that many Eagles personnel would not be in attendance.
This came just the season after the controversy over kneeling during the national anthem, and was a part of an ongoing disagreement.
Fast forward seven years, and the Eagles are back on top after winning the only Super Bowl in which the current President of the United States was in attendance. This time, without the taking a knee controversy looming, only looms political disagreements amongst most of the league and the whole country.
President Trump will be welcoming the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday April 28, only without their star quarterback and Super Bowl MVP.
