Here we go again. Another quarterback rankings, another one where Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is disrespected.
Yahoo! staff writer Charles McDonald compiled a list of the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL with four different tiers. In other lists, Hurts consistently ranked between five and 10. This time around, Yahoo! left him out altogether.

This list is incredibly disrespectful in multiple ways. The fact that guys Justin Herbert, Dak Prescott, Geno Smith, Jordan Love, and C.J. Stroud are ahead of Hurts is insane.
None of those guys have had any postseason success. None of the five guys ahead of Hurts even has a winning record. Heck, Love performed poorly in the loss to the Eagles in the NFC Wild Card game last year, throwing zero touchdowns and three interceptions.
Did these quarterbacks have better stats than Hurts in 2024? Mostly yes, outside of Prescott. However, there is much more to the position than what the numbers indicate.
The stats that do count are turnovers, completion percentage, and passer rating. Those are the ones that show consistency and quarterbacks not putting their teams in bad positions.
Hurts beat his quarterback counterparts in these stats, except for Smith having a higher completion percentage and Herbert having fewer interceptions than Hurts. Besides that, Hurts dominated in the other categories.
The reality is that Hurts will never be the quarterback who throws for 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns, but the Eagles don't need him to be. It wouldn't be asked of any quarterback who runs this offense since they have the best run-blocking offensive line and the best running back in Saquon Barkley.
It's painfully apparent that the Hurts disrespect training will continue throughout the regular season. Still, Eagles fans know the truth, and this will serve as motivation to repeat as Super Bowl champions (something the other five quarterbacks mentioned are unaware of).
