Jalen Hurts targeted Parris Campbell 'a lot' during first OTAs session
Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The hunt for Philadelphia Eagles' wide receiver No. 3 is on and while it's way too early to tell who gets the job, offseason veteran addition Parris Campbell is a name to watch.

According to Chase Senior of Chat Sports , quarterback Jalen Hurts targeted Campbell "a lot" out of the slot during the first OTAs session last week.

OTAs are voluntary but guys who weren't a part of last year's team are expected to show up and get acquainted with the team, especially if they're competing for a roster spot.

Campbell Reunited with Nick Sirianni in NFL Free Agency

Campbell was no stranger to head coach Nick Sirianni when they picked him up in NFL free agency in March.

The 26-year-old wide receiver was originally a second-round pick out of Ohio State by the Indianapolis Colts back in 2019.  During that same time, Nick Sirianni was the Colts' offensive coordinator.

Unfortunately, injuries plagued the first three seasons of Campbell's career.

He was finally able to make it through the 2022 season when he hauled in a career-high 63 catches for 632 receiving yards and three touchdowns for the Colts.

The following year, Campbell left Indianapolis during the first week of free agency after signing a one-year deal with the Eagles' division rival New York Giants

He had just 20 catches for 104 yards and zero touchdowns through 12 games with the Giants in 2023.

In 44 career games so far, Campbell has totaled 117 catches for 1,087 yards and five touchdowns. He's also recorded 11 carries for 108 yards on the ground.

There's a chance that between Campbell reuniting with a familiar face and joining a team that features an elite quarterback, he could log another career-best, similar to the one he had two years ago.

Of course, his 2024 success will come down to staying healthy and performing well throughout the remainder of the offseason.

He will also be up against Britain Covey, along with rookies Ainias Smith and Johnny Wilson, for the WR3 job.
