The Jalen Ramsey trade sweepstakes appears heading toward the finish line. One insider revealed the Miami Dolphins cornerback is down to three potential suitors.
While "nothing is imminent" as to when the trade will happen, David Furones of ESPN unveiled some intel per his colleague Jeremy Fowler.
"ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the Dolphins are engaged with multiple teams on a Jalen Ramsey trade with nothing imminent," Furones posted on X.
But who are the trio of NFL suitors still in the running for the perennial Pro Bowler? And is Ramsey's former team the Los Angeles Rams still in the fold?
"Fowler named the L.A. Rams, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders as potential suitors," Furones shared.
The Rams are still very much alive to bring back Ramsey. However, the Rams face a key dilemma should they attempt to finalize a deal before May ends.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that a Ramsey trade could get announced in June. Why wait until next month? A trade, should it happen, won't get officially processed until after June 1 due to salary cap restrictions.
That June date is a pivotal one across the league. Teams avoid needing to pay dead cap money to a player should they get traded. Franchises can save money after the June 1 designation should they move on from a player.
Ramsey rose as a trade candidate ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, Miami struggled to find any suitable trade partner. Now Ramsey appears to be in the mix for two NFC playoff representatives from a season ago and a Cowboys team already featuring All-Pros in the DB room.
