Jamal Adams, Seahawks agreed to push extension talks to 2020

Jamal Adams being traded from the New York Jets to the Seattle Seahawks didn't come as a surprise, but the latest information certainly is.

The Pro Bowl safety and the Seahawks reportedly agreed to push back extension talks to 2021, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, so there's no promising he stays in Seattle beyond 2020.

Adams wanted out of New York after the Jets refused to give him an extension, so it's odd that he agreed to table future discussions until 2021. However, the 24-year-old cited Adam Gase as a reason behind requesting a trade from the organization, so it appears his contract situation wasn't all that disgruntled him.

The Jets previously had no intention of trading Adams, though something obviously changed since he made those comments.

Adams was sent to the Seahawks for first-round picks in the next two drafts, a 2021 third-round selection and safety Bradley McDougald.
