The Cincinnati Bengals are working toward what they hope will be a bounce back season in 2025-26 after missing the playoffs in two consecutive seasons.
The 2021 Super Bowl participants still boast one of the NFL's top passing attacks led by the vaunted duo of Joe Burrow at quarterback and Ja'Marr Chase at wide receiver, the latter of whom received word of a special honor on Monday.
Chase was seen receiving a special token of appreciation after hearing about the honor, prompting him to make a surprising promise at the Bengals' practice facility, Kettering Health Practice Fields.
"1-800-CALL-CHAD," the Bengals' social media account wrote on Monday as it captioned a video of Chase receiving news from former Bengals star Chad Johnson that he was given a '99' rating in the upcoming 'Madden NFL 26' video game.
Chase was later shown receiving a '99' pendant from receivers coach Troy Walters that prompted the former LSU and current Bengals star to make an assurance to his coach.
"Look at that bad boy...King crazy now," Chase said to Walters.
"I'mma wear this in a game now Troy," Chase added as he received his gift.

The Bengals are poised to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in their preseason opener on August 7 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, a chance for coach Zac Taylor's team to start their crucial 2025-26 season off on the right foot again.
