Jameis Winston Incident Will Lead to NFL Punishment Decision

The New York Giants secured their second straight win to improve to 3-1 in the 2026 NFL season. They hosted the Arizona Cardinals at MetLife Stadium on Sunday and won 36-24. Jameis Winston led the way for the home team

The veteran quarterback completed 18 of 29 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns. New York’s pass catchers also showed out. Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields and Theo Johnson each scored one touchdown apiece.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, struggled to get it going after a dominant 14-3 first quarter. Jacoby Brissett completed 21 of 35 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. He also carried the ball four times for 18 yards.

Arizona only scored three points in the second quarter compared to the Giants’ 16. To top it off, they were called for a penalty with around 8:27 left in the quarter. Cardinals defensive end L.J. Collier sacked Winston for a one-yard loss. However, Collier grabbed the QB’s facemask to take him down, negating the sack.

Collier was flagged for a personal foul on the play for a facemask violation. The call resulted in a 15-yard penalty and an automatic first down for New York. The Giants eventually ended the drive with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Winston to Fields.
