Despite an elite season from Verse with some devastating moments and big plays, Verse compared a different Ram to a superhero.
Appearing on the Rich Eisen show, Verse discussed much of the offseason with the Rams, including an interesting tidbit about his desire to play on offense.
One of the best sequences of the show was Verse discussing Matthew Stafford and his mentality on the football field, with Verse comparing Stafford to a beloved Marvel superhero.
"He's like Captain America. He's composed all the time. He's really collected, even during all the big moments. He knows how to hype people up right before the game. Stafford's the guy we look to before the game. He comes in, he'll do the speech for everybody...When someone that composed comes in yelling, you get ready for it. He brings an energy to the team."
Verse also later described Stafford as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, citing his ability to make "throws that I couldn't make throwing to my little sister uncovered" in every game.
Rich Eisen had an interesting perspective on Verse's comments, citing that Verse was lucky to have a quarterback like that. So often, so many teams are churning through quarterbacks or don't have one on the team that is willing to step up and talk to the team, which Verse responded that he "thanks God every day" that Stafford is his quarterback.
The Rams are definitely lucky to have Stafford as their quarterback, and even luckier that both Stafford and Verse are in horns. Both sides of the ball are set for the foreseeable future with that duo in charge.
