The Philadelphia Eagles' Tush Push ban saga took an interesting turn on Wednesday morning before being put to a vote.
During the latest episode of the podcast New Heights, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce shared with his co-host and brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, that he was invited to the NFL owners meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to speak on the potential Tush Push ban proposed by the Green Bay Packers. At the time of the recording, Jason Kelce shared he was hearing that there was discussion in last month's meeting regarding the play being part of the reason he retired.
He went on the record to say that it wasn't part of the reason and shared his full thoughts on whether the play should be banned as well as his thoughts on running the play.
"Some of the owners and coaches hinted that the reason I stopped playing was because of the Tush Push and that I got hurt on the Tush Push frequently. I'm just going to answer questions people will have about my partaking in this play. I don't care whether it gets banned or not. I think that at the end of the day, this is why you vote on things and if they vote to ban the Tush Push, the Eagles are still gonna run quarterback sneak at a very high percentage. If anybody has any questions about the Tush Push or whether I retired because of the Tush Push, I'll tell you this right now, I'll come out of retirement today if you tell me all I gotta do is run 80 Tush Pushes to play in the NFL. I'll do that gladly."

Sports Illustrated senior NFL reporter Albert Breer shared on X that he saw Kelce in the hotel lobby on Tuesday night. It indicates that Jason Kelce took his brother's advice and made the trip to speak.
Jason Kelce showed up here to the hotel last night (which got the attention of plenty of people getting dinner and drinks in the lobby)—a good symbol of the @Eagles' aggression on this issue. https://t.co/5kcGJqP2MG

Before Cam Jurgens, Kelce was the Eagles' starting center from 2011 through 2023, picking up seven Pro Bowl selections and six first-team All-Pro selections. He played in 193 career games and only significantly lost playing time in 2012 due to injury, but started every game after that until the end of his career.
Kelce was the key piece to the Tush Push when the Eagles were first using it. He led the way for Jalen Hurts and gave him a path in the middle. The play was perfectly executed, as Kelce had a knack for getting him and his defender low enough to go down and let Hurts move from there.
If there is anyone the NFL should be asking about the Tush Push, Kelce is the expert.
