Jason Kelce is so much more than just Taylor Swift's boyfriend's brother. While Swifties might identify him as the older brother of Travis Kelce, the truth of the matter is that the one-time Super Bowl champion is an NFL icon.
Kelce has kept himself in the public eye even after retiring from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023. In fact, there's no denying that the six-time All-Pro center is an even more prominent figure in mainstream media now than he was when he was playing football professionally.
Kelce currently works for ESPN as an analyst, while also holding a highly successful weekly podcast with his brother. The soon-to-be father-of-four also hit a major milestone in his music career after his song "Maybe This Christmas" -- a duet with rock icon Stevie Nicks -- dethroned Mariah Carey's 30-year-old megahit "All I Want for Christmas Is You" on the song charts.
The 37-year-old is not resting on his laurels, though. Far from it, actually. A testament to this fact is how Kelce recently made a big career move by accepting a role as a late-night host.
"They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce" is set to launch on Jan. 3 on ESPN and will reportedly tape for five straight Friday nights. Filmed in a live audience in Philadelphia, the show will air throughout the final week of the NFL season and the playoffs.
Kelce had the chance to talk about his new gig during a recent interview on "The Rich Eisen Show," which prompted a brutally honest admission from the seven-time Pro Bowler.
“I’m going to try to do something of that resemblance,” Kelce said of his foray into the late-night market demographic. “I don’t know what I’m doing. Luckily, we’ve hired a bunch of people that do know kinda what they are doing and have done this before.”
Eisen, the host of the show, reacted to Kelce's honest humility by pointing out that the former Eagles star has found a lot of success with this approach thus far. "You're doing pretty damn well at not knowing what I'm doing," Esien said.
Kelce revealed that the guests on his new show are still "to be determined" but he did say he expects to have both former and current players on there. He also stated that the show will "take some celebrities, for sure."
Kelce has arguably the biggest celebrity on speed dial, so perhaps that's something the fans will want to keep an eye on.
