Jason Kelce came to the defense of his former team when it came to the recent play of the Eagles' offensive line.
Kelce, who spent the entirety of his career with Philadelphia, believes that the Eagles' front five will be fine for the final 10 games of the season, as he shared on 94 WIP.
"I'm optimistic once these guys get healthy that it will get sorted."
The Eagles have been hit with not only injuries but are seeing some regression in their rushing attack as well. Saquon Barkley has been hit with a sophomore slump, so to speak, and has seen his average yards per carry drop from 5.8 to 3.3 so far this season. Currently, the Eagles' offensive line ranks last in the NFL in many major categories.
This week, the injury bug has hit the offensive line once more. Starting center Cam Jurgens is listed as "out" and will not be playing against the Giants, while Landon Dickerson is active; however has been a limited participant in practice this week, dealing with an ankle and back injury.
The Eagles have struggled to remain healthy on the offensive line, in addition to "breaking in" Tyler Steen as their replacement for Mekhi Becton, and will now rely on Brett Toth to replace Jurgens, who will make his second start of the season.
The Eagles' offensive line will have a steep challenge as the unit will face some of the NFL's more dynamic pass rushers in Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, and Kayvon Thibodeaux, who recorded three sacks and seven tackles for loss in their 34-17 loss in Week 6.
With lingering injuries and new personnel, the Eagles' offensive line will have to "figure it out" a bit quicker than maybe Jason Kelce thinks. However, with ten games left in the season, Kelce (and hopefully Jeff Stoutland) doesn't think there is a need for panic just yet.
