While Travis Kelce reported to the Kansas City Chiefs facility on Tuesday for OTAs alongside his teammates, it hasn’t slowed down production of his wildly popular "New Heights" podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
Since launching in September 2022, the Kelce brothers have grown the podcast into one of the most successful and entertaining weekly sports shows, regularly featuring high-profile guests.
In perfect timing with the current sports landscape—specifically the NBA and NHL playoffs—the Kelce's are bringing on an all-time hockey legend in their upcoming episode, set to drop Wednesday morning.
The "New Heights" social media team dropped a preview of Jason Kelce’s weekly guest introduction—and this one, for hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, was second to none.
“I do a lot of these intros for all of our guests. This is the longest one I’ve ever had to do, so just be prepared… okay?” Jason said, setting the tone. “Our guest today is one of the favorite athletes of all time for both of us. This is a true honor."
Jason continued, “15-time NHL All-Star, nine-time NHL MVP, 10-time scoring champion, four-time Stanley Cup Champion. He still holds the record for most points and assists in a career, most goals, assists, and points in a single season—and nearly 60 other NHL records. The first player to ever have his number retired league-wide… please welcome The Great One, Mr. Wayne [explicit] Gretzky!”
The Great One deserves a truly great introduction

The timing couldn’t be better to have a guest like Wayne Gretzky on the podcast. The NHL is currently at one of its most exciting points of the season, and Gretzky’s former team in the Oilers, are on the verge of returning to the Stanley Cup Final for a second consecutive year. They currently hold a 2–1 series lead over the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals, with Game 4 set for Tuesday night.
If the Oilers manage to close out the series, there's a strong chance they'll face a familiar opponent—the Florida Panthers, who defeated them in last year’s Stanley Cup Final and now hold a 3–1 lead over the Carolina Hurricanes in the East.
Gretzky spent nine seasons with the Oilers and won all four of his Stanley Cups with the franchise. Beyond Edmonton, he also played for the Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, and St. Louis Blues.
Back in April, "The Great One" predicted that the Oilers would come out of the West—though he picked the Tampa Bay Lightning from the East, who have since been eliminated.
