Jason Kelce's Massive Salary At ESPN Has Leaked On Thursday

NFL analyst and former Super Bowl-winning center Jason Kelce wasted no time getting into broadcasting after retiring from football last season. As you might expect, he's being paid very handsomely for his services.

Kelce has been just about everywhere lately, ranging from commercials to podcasts to his own show on ESPN. But while there's likely a labor of love at hand with some of his projects, he isn't exactly doing it for free - and he doesn't come cheap either.

Sports media insider Andrew Marchand of The Athletic recently published a report on who the next "9-figure TV talent" in NFL media might be. That reported included a little blurb on Kelce, who Marchand wrote is allegedly with ESPN on a three-year, $24 million contract.

"Last year, Jason Kelce was taking meetings with all the networks. He had offers from nearly every major network, before going with the highest known bidder in ESPN on a three-year, $24 million contract, according to sources briefed on the deal," Marchand wrote.

To put that number into perspective, OverTheCap noted that Kelce didn't start making over $8 million per year as a Pro Bowl center until the final five years of his contract. Over a 13-year career he averaged less than $7 million per season.

Suffice it to say, it's a pretty good deal to NOT have to risk serious injury on a weekly basis.

$8 million per year to not even go on shows like First Take or be a live broadcaster on NFL Sundays is a pretty sweet deal, though not quite as sweet as the deal Tom Brady got with Fox. Then again, there's only one Tom Brady.

Time will tell if the deal Kelce has is a one-time thing or maybe just the precursor to an even larger deal - maybe at ESPN or one of their competitors.

One thing is for sure: Kelce won't be disappearing from your screens on Sundays anytime soon.
