Jason Mcintyre picks 49ers to stop Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs three-peat and win the Super Bowl
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

FOX’s Jason McIntyre is back with another baffling hot take. The co-host of The Herd with Colin Cowherd predicted that Kyle Shanahan will finally break the losing streak and lead the San Francisco 49ers to Super Bowl glory.

Even though three months have already passed since Super Bowl LVIII, 49ers players can’t seem to move on from the disappointing loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. Linebacker Fred Warner hinted that it still haunts some of the players to this day.

However, McIntyre asserted that the 49ers are the favorites to win it in 2024. Despite the ongoing negotiations with Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel , Kyle Shanahan has largely kept the team intact from last season.

I think the 9ers win the Super Bowl this year. They have been going to the NFC Championship game or Super Bowl every year seemingly. I think they break through this and I can’t wait to watch the 9ers. Jason McIntyre said

The 49ers kick off their 2024 campaign on Monday Night Football against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.

Can Kyle Shanahan orchestrate another Super Bowl run with the San Francisco 49ers?

As McIntyre highlighted the 49ers constantly end up in the later stages of the playoffs. In the last five seasons, they played the conference championship twice, winning once and the Super Bowl twice. So they have to be favorites to be in the mix once again.

49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward (formerly with the Chiefs) recently stated that their team is better compared to the reigning Super Bowl winners. The loss has made them stronger.

I think the losses, they make you stronger, [they make you go harder], they challenge you to be better at something. Maybe we don't know what we got to be better at yet, but obviously got to go in there and work, and figure it out to dethrone the champions. Charvarius Ward told Kay Adams

More importantly, Brock Purdy has a full season of experience on his tape. For once the quarterback is injury-free and has the offseason to improve his skills, unlike last year when he injured his throwing arm in the NFC Championship game.

Purdy recently revealed that his taking it even more seriously than the previous years because now he is a third-year veteran.

Yeah man, I’m a vet [but] I’m still just trying to get better every day. Brock Purdy said per SactownSports

The 49ers already sorted out the contracts of key players. George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, Fred Warner, and Nick Bosa all bagged sweet deals. Purdy is now in line for an extension. He is playing on a rookie contract and is expected to earn around $40 million a year after the season wraps up.
