New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart does not quite understand why he gets sent to the injury tent as often as he does.
Dart made another trip to the tent on Saturday during the Giants’ preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings after getting sacked in the first quarter. After the game, Dart said he was “puzzled” at being sent to the tent, and suggested that he gets checked on more than his peers.
“I really respect the rules and the thought the NFL has for keeping players healthy,” Dart told reporters. “At the same time, I’m still puzzled. It just feels like every time I get hit I find my way in there, which at times I still try to wrap my head around.”

Dart got nailed on a sack and was pulled off the field by medical personnel (video here). He ultimately returned to the game without incident. He was also sent to the injury tent to be evaluated for a concussion five times during his 10-game rookie season.
Dart plays very aggressively, and the frequency with which he gets hit leads to him getting sent to the tent frequently. His former coach expressed some concern over that. The Giants obviously do not want him to be too passive, but they also don’t want him taking too many hits that could sideline him with a more serious injury.
