After another disappointing season, the New York Giants have entered a critical phase in filling their offensive coordinator vacancy under new head coach John Harbaugh.
After parting ways with Todd Monken, who chose to become the Cleveland Browns’ head coach, New York’s search for a play-caller has expanded to include multiple candidates. The Giants are emphasizing offensive minds that can develop young quarterback Jaxson Dart and establish a cohesive pro-style system for the 2026 season.
Dart, the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, posted promising rookie-year production and is expected to show more growth under Harbaugh’s leadership in 2026.
This offseason discussion has included potential hires from both NFL and college ranks as the franchise looks to accelerate its rebuild and maximize Dart’s long-term upside.
Among the names discussed is Charlie Weis Jr., the former Ole Miss Rebels offensive coordinator who worked closely with Dart in college and built high-producing attacks before following head coach Lane Kiffin to the LSU Tigers this offseason.
Weis has drawn attention from NFL circles due to his strong relationship with Dart and his track record of developing efficient passing offenses. However, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the expectation as of now is that Weis plans to remain at LSU and will not leave to become the Giants’ offensive coordinator.
On Charlie Weis Jr. as the Giants OC: Jaxson Dart pushed for him. Showed support for his guy, per sources. Things can change but expectations as of now are that Weis Jr. plans to remain in college at LSU.#Giants #LSU #OleMiss

Giants management has since broadened its interviews. Candidates reportedly include former Giants quarterback and current Denver Broncos passing-game coordinator Davis Webb, along with other offensive minds with NFL experience. Harbaugh and his staff aim to finalize a hire that aligns with both their offensive philosophy and Dart’s developmental trajectory.
