Jayden Daniels' Commanders Own One 'Significant Advantage' In Super Bowl Chase

One year. That's all it took for Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels to change the trajectory of the Washington Commanders. Yes, Adam Peters and owner Josh Harris played their roles too, but Quinn and Daniels brought it to life.

A 12-5 record and an NFC Championship appearance is a superb first act, but the problem with that is it is a tough one to follow up.

But Peters has done his best to make sure the Commanders get a decent shot at replicating last year's efforts, trading for Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil.

The vibe is now different in the nation's capital, and for good reason, with Daniels showing to be every bit the franchise star the organization wanted him to be.

And because of that, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer thinks the franchise's future is in good hands.

"The Commanders may not win 12 games or go to the NFC title game, as they did last season," Breer said. "However, the team-building efforts of Dan Quinn and Adam Peters, who have brought in players such as Marshon Lattimore, Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil at premium positions, has been impressive. Having Jayden Daniels will also give them a significant advantage moving forward. The future is very bright in D.C."

As the ready for a Super Bowl chase? Some see a regression coming, and let's face it, a 12-5 season and championship appearance is a tough thing to achieve consistently, but the Commanders have as good a shot as anyone to do it.

Daniels, along with Deebo, Terry McLaurin, Zach Ertz, a solid offensive line, and run game, give offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury some serious weapons to play with.

If Jayden can avoid the dreaded sophomore slump, Washington will be in business in the NFC and Super Bowl races.

And even if they stumble in 2025, the franchise is well-placed to be around the rim for the foreseeable future thanks to nailing their draft selection of Daniels.
