Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered another injury during his team’s game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, and his mother had a message for fans about the situation.
Daniels injured his hamstring on a play where he lost a fumble early in the second half of Washington’s 44-22 Week 7 loss to the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. His leg twisted awkwardly underneath him, which led to concerns that he had suffered a more serious injury.
Daniels was then seen grabbing at the back of his right leg as trainers helped him to the sideline. He did not return.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Daniels is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the hamstring injury.

Daniels already missed time earlier this season due to a knee injury, so fans are naturally concerned about him being hurt again. Some have compared Daniels to Robert Griffin III, who also began his career in Washington with an Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign before his career was derailed by injuries.
Regina Jackson, Daniels’ mother, does not want to hear the RG3 comparisons.
“I wish you would stop manifesting RGIII on my son. Words are powerful and that’s all that’s talked about,” Jackson wrote on X Sunday night.

Daniels and Griffin were both drafted second overall by the same franchise, so some of the comparisons are unavoidable. Like Daniels, RG3 led Washington to the playoffs in his first season. The latter suffered a devastating knee injury in a Wild Card Round loss to the Seattle Seahawks and was never the same after that.
Fortunately, Daniels has not had an injury nearly as serious as the one Griffin sustained as a rookie. Daniels might miss more time, however, which is bad news for the 3-4 Commanders.
