Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft.

While the deal seems to have come out of the blue, there were hints months ago that the Dolphins were at least open to trading Waddle. At least one team tried unsuccessfully to trade for him prior to last November’s deadline.
The Broncos now boast a wide receiver room headed by Waddle and Courtland Sutton, and they appear to be sparing no expense to make sure quarterback Bo Nix has all the weapons he could want next season. Miami, on the other hand, has now let go of Tyreek Hill and Waddle this offseason, leaving them with a huge need at wide receiver for new quarterback Malik Willis.
Waddle, the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has topped 1,000 receiving yards three times in his five-year career. He caught 64 passes for 910 yards and six touchdowns for Miami last season.
