The biggest game of the week is set to take place in Pasadena, California, between the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 1 Oregon Ducks in the famous Rose Bowl Game.
This will also mark a rematch from the two teams' Week 7 matchup, which saw Oregon win 32-31 in dramatic fashion. The game featured over five lead changes and was deemed by many as the Game of the Year during the college football regular season.
Now, they'll meet again with the stakes higher than ever for two of the most talented teams in the country—and arguably the most talented on the field Wednesday evening. Ohio State's true freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who hauled in over 100 yards and two touchdowns in the first round against the Tennessee Volunteers, was the best wideout in the Big Ten this season in his first year of college football.
Ahead of the showdown on New Year's Day, Smith—who isn’t one for many words—unveiled a bold admission if the Ducks play single coverage during the Rose Bowl Game.
"So, I’m just letting everybody know right now, if you play man (coverage) Wednesday, we’re taking a shot," Smith said.

This season, Smith became the first true freshman wide receiver in Ohio State Buckeyes history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards, and he’s also the 10th wide receiver overall to achieve this milestone for the program.
He has hauled in an impressive 63 receptions for 1,037 yards and 12 touchdowns and will return for his sophomore season next year in Columbus—a sight to watch, as he’s ahead of schedule both as a football player and an NFL prospect.
However, the focus now is on Oregon, as Smith looks to help contribute to Ohio State’s national championship aspirations, which are still very much alive with a win on Jan. 1.
