Jerry Jones confident Dak Prescott will be sharp vs. Bears

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones suggested fans will see more of a truly recovered version of quarterback Dak Prescott during Sunday's game against the 3-4 Chicago Bears now that Prescott has four quarters under his belt following his thumb injury in Week 1.

"If there is [rust], as that game went along, he went in that [positive] direction. He went in that direction. He did not digress," Jones said about Prescott's play in this past Sunday's win over the Detroit Lions during a Tuesday appearance on Dallas sports radio station 105.3 The Fan, as shared by Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. "He went in that direction and my opinion is, anything that he had to deal with relative to not having been out there for five games, this game he will address that. He’s the kind of player, he’s the kind of quarterback that can take he wasn’t satisfied with and he can improve on that from game to game. He can do that from practice to practice."

Prescott hadn't played since Sept. 11. He completed 19-of-25 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown in the 24-6 victory over Detroit that improved the Cowboys to 5-2 on the season.

"Absolutely has no adverse aspects to it," Jones continued about Prescott's thumb. "That hand will be better, if it needed to be next week, or better tomorrow than it was this past week. I think you are going to see that more and more not be a factor if there’s not a reinjury someplace."

The Bears are coming off a blowout 33-14 win at the New England Patriots on Monday night. Meanwhile, Dallas enters its bye following the last weekend of October, so Prescott will have some extra time to work on returning to full fitness ahead of the Week 10 matchup at the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 13.
