Jerry Jones tried to sell his claims to Dak Prescott skeptics, promising he and the Cowboys will ascend into championship contention.
"Dak brings us a separator ... if you were constructing the possibility of winning a Super Bowl, it starts right there with Dak," Jones said Tuesday on KRLD-FM in Dallas.

Prescott has overachieved in seven seasons. He's a former fourth-round draft pick who became a two-time Pro Bowler. Yet, Prescott consistently raises questions about his premium quarterback status. Some argue he's not among the league's top tier.
"I don't think there is a major flaw in his game, but I'm not sure if he has truly like hit that upper echelon," a defensive coach told The Atheltic's Mike Sando. "It just seems like every time they have their chance to put it together and elevate it, they fall short."
Falling short in big games became a theme in Dallas over the past decade, including a 31-28 heartbreaker against the Packers on Sunday.
Prescott's performance encapsulates his legacy. Sometimes, he played brilliantly, tossing three touchdowns. Other times, he struggled to consistently master the fine points, which separate legendary quarterbacks, throwing two costly interceptions.
Call him "CeeDee LAMBeau" because he’s taking over in Green Bay!

Dak Prescott throws another ugly INT to Rudy Ford in the first half. Right to him.

Following the loss, Prescott blamed the picks on "miscommunication" with Dalton Schultz and CeeDee Lamb. However, scrutiny falls on him since he forced both passes, allowing Aaron Rodgers, a four-time league MVP, to hang around and mount a Green Bay comeback.
Signature victories define a quarterback, and a lack of them is why critics refuse to elevate Prescott.
