The Dallas Cowboys faced the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
They came in with a 2-3-1 record with wins over the New York Giants and New York Jets.
Sunday felt like all Cowboys from start to finish. They opened with a Javonte Williams rushing touchdown within the first two minutes of the game.
And despite giving up 22 points to Washington, Dallas exploded for 44 points of its own. Quarterback Dak Prescott finished with 264 passing yards and three touchdowns, while completing 21-of-30 passes.
As the Cowboys now sit at 3-3-1 in head coach Brian Schottenheimer's first season in charge, owner Jerry Jones spoke very highly of his Sunday performance.
"To me, last week was about as good a coaching job as I've been around since I don't know when," Jones said on 1053thefan.
That's some high praise considering Jones has been with the Cowboys since 1989.
Schottenheimer was hired by Dallas in 2022 as a coaching analyst. He's since been promoted to offensive coordinator and now the head coach.
Prior to his time in Dallas, he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars and several other NFL teams.
Dallas will now travel to Denver in Week 8 to face the Broncos. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 ET.
