FRISCO - Will the Dallas Cowboys play in the 2025 NFL Kickoff Game in the traditional opener against the defending Super Bowl champs, this time the Philadelphia Eagles? Will they play an international game, perhaps as the "road" team against the New York Jets in London?
Or will their opponents again be old reliable, better known as the New York Giants?
The NFL is all about parity, but this is obscenely predictable. Despite a Week 1 visit to the lowly Cleveland Browns last season, the Cowboys have opened against the Giants seven times in the last 13 years.
Are we about to see it again?
In speaking to the Cowboys' new rookies last week at The Star, Jerry Jones appears to let it slip that his team will be lining up in Week 1 against the Giants.
"We need you to be smart and come in here and dig and go for it and get it out so we can line up against the Giants Week ..." Jones said. "Can you do that?"
So wait did Jerry Jones just leak week 1? Is it the Cowboys Vs Giants week 1???? pic.twitter.com/RRqeV95a26

Maybe Jones inserted the Giants simply as an NFC East rival to fire up the troops. Or, did he catch himself and stop short of saying "Week 1"?
The league loves Cowboys-Giants to begin the season - usually on a Sunday or Monday night. America's Team vs. America's biggest TV market always produces boffo ratings. Even during dreadful seasons, the teams played to a record TV audience last Thanksgiving in Arlington.
Not that the Cowboys should complain if it's the Giants again. In the seven recent openers they are 6-1, including the memorable 40-0 shellacking in prime time at MetLife Stadium in 2023.
By contrast, Dallas last opened against the Washington Commanders in 2010; the Eagles way back in 2000.
The NFL full schedule will be released Wednesday at 7 p.m., but marquee games will begin trickling out Monday.
