Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made his debut in the Paramount+ series Landman on Sunday and stole the show. Jones appeared in the ninth episode of the series and is seen giving a speech to TV billionaire Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) who recently suffered a heart attack.
“Now I’m not saying I’ve done anything right, but I made my mind up a long time ago I was going to work with my kids. And they’re involved in everything. They’re involved in my leasing, oil, gas and real estate,” Jones said in the episode. “So when I got the Cowboys, I got it so we could all work together. I thought I was doing it for them.”
#Cowboys owner Jerry Jones might just add Golden Globe or Oscar to his trophy case. Wow! This is wildly impressive.

“But the one that got the most out of it was me. I just know it’s not going to be this time, you’re gonna be sitting here sometime in the future, laying here sometime in the future, and this room’s gonna be full of your business associates and the people that you’ve worked with your whole life. And more than likely your children and family are gonna be there because they’re your children and your family. But you could have them there because they’re the people you spent your life with, you worked with, you fell down with, you got up with it.“
Per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, this isn’t the first time Jones has appeared on a television series. During his NFL career, the 82-year-old made appearances on Coach, Arli$, Entourage, Cubed and The League.

Taylor Sheridan created Landman and is known for also creating the hit Paramount Network series Yellowstone. The series debuted on Nov. 17 and became the top Paramount+ original series of all time, tallying 14.9 million households through its first four weeks. Hamm stars in the series along with Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter and Demi Moore.
The official synopsis of Landman states: “Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.”
Jones’s appearance on Landman comes as the Cowboys finished the 2024 season. The team recorded a 7-10 record, its first losing season since 2020.
