Jerry Jones Makes His Feelings On Jayden Daniels Clear

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones saw Washington Commanders quarterback burst onto the scene in the NFL this year.

Daniels changed the complexity of the Commanders franchise and won Offensive Rookie of the Year on Thursday after finishing his rookie season with 3,568 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

He helped the Commanders make the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season and took them to the NFC Championship Game for the first time since the 1991 season.

There's new life in the Commanders franchise, and Jones knows it. He hates that his team will see Daniels twice a year for the foreseeable future.

"I'm going to get sick when I think the Cowboys have got to play him twice a year for the rest of his career," Jones said at the NFL Awards. I would say that we played him pretty good in Washington and we played him pretty good for a half when we got him down to Dallas but he's a great talent, unique, and I'm glad to have him in the National Football League."

With Daniels in Washington, the Commanders-Cowboys rivalry is about to go up to a whole new level. These two teams haven't liked each other for a long time, but it may go into overdrive now that the Commanders have found their franchise quarterback.

The Cowboys revamped their coaching staff for the 2025 season, hiring Brian Schottenheimer as head coach, Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator, and Klayton Adams as offensive coordinator.

Jones is hoping that this new staff can get the Cowboys back on track after they missed the playoffs this season. It was the first time they had missed the playoffs since the 2020 season.

It will be a blast seeing the Commanders and Cowboys go at it twice a year again next season.
