FRISCO — The Dallas Cowboys have now completed their 2024 season, falling short of the expectations many had for them a few months back. Now, Jerry Jones' team turns to a crucial offseason as they move forward.

For most teams and franchise leadership, that means the beginning of evaluations at several spots. Some have already made a decision for coaching changes with now six openings across the league.

Others are setting their sights on a talented draft class coming out of the college ranks this spring, examining ways they can retool their roster ahead of the 2025 season.

The Cowboys presumably are turning the gears on those projects, certainly not with any sense of urgency. They have declined permission for the Chicago Bears to interview Mike McCarthy without making a commitment on their end.

That would be the latest key update on the progress at The Star. But perhaps the most intriguing piece of Cowboys' offseason content comes from Jerry himself.

Jerry made a guest appearance in the Paramount + program "Landman" in a video going viral. To his credit, it is an impressive performance. ... he's an emotional actor!

In the scene, Jerry speaks to Jon Hamm's character "Monty Miller" about the importance of family and the pride he takes in having worked with his kids for so many years.

He plays himself within this guest appearance and showcased his talents well in the role he was quite literally born to play. This is now the second big viral moment for Jerry following the announcement of Netflix's upcoming 10-part documentary series on the Cowboys.

But Jerry and his Cowboys have much work to do behind the scenes to right the ship for next season. That starts with taking a definitive stance on McCarthy and landing the necessary pieces in the offseason to ensure their return to contention next season.

Nonetheless, Jerry got his moment and dazzled in the spotlight.
