Training camp is in full swing for the Los Angeles Chargers, and between now and the start of the regular season, they have several big questions to answer, including what to do with their wide receiver room.
One name that will need to be addressed is Brenden Rice, the son of NFL legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, as he enters his second season in Los Angeles after they took him with a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
He's done what he can to stand out so far and on Sunday, the Chargers posted an impressive highlight of Rice making a catch between two defenders on an underthrown ball, which required him to jump and fully turn around.

The video quickly made its rounds on social media, and it didn't take long for many fans to request more content of Rice and express their beliefs that he's someone the team can rely on.
"I’ve been waiting so long to see some good news about @BrendenRice. I need you man!!" said one comment.
"Trust me! He just needs a chance!!! Promise you he is worth it!! Let’s go B!! I believe in you," said another.
"Please give him more playing time! The kid is great!" a third added.
A fourth stated, "More of that rice! GET YOUR STOCKS UP HOMIE!"
"I’d rather start B Rice than Q “Drop King”, just saying," a fifth continued.
"Hope he plays more fr," said another.
Rice didn't rack up any statistics in his rookie season last year, and in the Chargers' matchup against the Detroit Lions in the Hall of Fame Game, his production was extremely limited, accumulating just 1 reception for 13 yards.
However, in his four seasons at the collegiate level (2020 to 2023), there's no doubt he proved to be a productive player, appearing in 43 games, racking up 111 receptions, 1,821 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Every season, his numbers only continued to improve, and in 2023 as a senior, he hit career highs in receptions (45), yards (791) and touchdowns (12), which is obviously a good sign for such a young player.
There's really no way for a definitive answer on this kind of question right now, but it's clear that it's a tough road ahead as he's viewed as one of the biggest potential casualties with roster cuts set for Aug. 27.
Before training camp started, Gavino Borquez of Chargers Wire predicted that Rice would unfortunately be one player let go, highlighting that he and former first-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Reagor, are two players "battling for a spot on the back end of the depth chart."
However, Rice still has plenty of time to prove himself and still has some huge tests ahead with the Chargers still set to play three preseason games.
