Jets’ Aaron Rodgers Gets Honest On 2 Free Agents He Wants
Michael Madrid-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets are anticipating the return of a fully fit Aaron Rodgers on the field for the upcoming season, and the esteemed quarterback has voiced his preferences regarding additional players he’d like to see join the team.

During an appearance on the “Keep Hammering Collective,” Rodgers expressed his desire for the Jets to reacquire kicker Greg Zuerlein and punter Thomas Morstead, citing them as valuable assets to the team.

Rodgers commended Zuerlein’s stellar performance during the 2023 season, where the veteran kicker showcased one of the finest displays of his career. Zuerlein boasted an impressive 92% success rate with 35 successful field goals out of 38 attempts, along with a near-perfect record of 15 out of 16 extra point attempts, accumulating a substantial 120 points for the team.

Equally noteworthy was Morstead’s impact, leading the league in both punts (99) and punt yardage (4,831). With an average of 48.8 yards per punt, Morstead consistently provided the Jets’ defense with advantageous field positions, amplifying their effectiveness on the field.

In addition to advocating for Zuerlein and Morstead, Rodgers also highlighted areas of improvement for the team, emphasizing the need for enhancements in the offensive line and the acquisition of another receiver.

Despite acknowledging the Jets’ formidable defensive lineup, Aaron Rodgers stressed the importance of fortifying other key positions to further bolster the team’s competitiveness.

With the Jets possessing eight picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, including the coveted No. 10 pick, they have ample opportunities to address these areas of concern and strategically strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.
