Jets Analysis Reveals 5 Biggest Roster Needs for 2025
Chris Pedota/USA TODAY Network

The New York Jets season is lost. At 3-9, they are closer to attaining the top overall pick than a playoff spot even though they have not been mathematically eliminated from contention yet.

With that reality in place, it's time to look forward to 2025 and beyond. A new head coach and front office will be manning the ship at 1 Jets Drive and they'll have plenty of issues to solve right off the bat.

As this new regime comes in, they'll need to look at some of the top positions they need to address. Going into the offseason, the Jets will need to address the following roles on the team:

Quarterback Another year where the Jets quarterback situation has yet to be figured out. Aaron Rodgers is almost assuredly gone which means New York will need to sign either a bridge player, draft a quarterback, or both.

Until they finally get this position right, though, it will remain New York's biggest need.

Edge Rusher As of now, only Will McDonald and Jermaine Johnson are the two most trustworthy edge defenders returning for the Jets next season. In the case of Johnson, nobody knows how good he will be coming off an Achilles injury.

Safe to say, with Johnson not expected to be at 100% right away, the Jets need to address the edge of their defensive line immediately.

Defensive Tackle New York has failed to find a consistent interior defender to pair with Quinen Williams. All great defenses have a top interior rusher, but it's the role players around him that change games for those teams.

New York desperately needs to find solutions in this position and to help Williams reach his full potential.

Right Tackle While New York's 2025 offensive line projections are pretty much set, New York needs tdecide onat right tackle. Is Carter Warren ready for a starting role, will Morgan Moses be brought back, or will the team look to address it in the offseason? These are questions the new regime will have to answer.

Safety Pretty simple here. It's been a while since New York had consistently competent safeties and while the position isn't of high value when it comes to roster evaluation, it's a role that needs to be addressed with players like Chuck Clark, Tony Adams, and Ashtyn Davis all hitting free agency next year.
