Jets assistant coach Greg Knapp in critical condition after being struck by car while riding bike

New York Jets passing game coach Greg Knapp is in the hospital and in critical condition due to injuries he sustained in a bicycle accident near his home in Danville, Calif., over the weekend, Mike Klis of 9NEWS reported.

ESPN's Rich Cimini reported Tuesday that the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the police.

Knapp's resume boasts a coaching career that spans 23 years shared with seven different franchises. He was hired in January to become part of Robert Saleh's new coaching staff in New York and was prepping to leave for training camp prior to the accident.

Saleh and the Knapp family released statements via the Jets' Twitter account.
