The New York Jets were super active during Tuesday's NFL trade deadline.
They traded star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. The Colts are all in on trying to win a Super Bowl this year, while the Jets are still rebuilding.
After trading Gardner to the Colts, the Jets continued their fire sale, trading defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith.
Jets running back Breece Hall saw both of those moves and put out a couple of tweets before deleting them. The first tweet consisted of a sad emoji followed by three dots, while the second tweet read, "Sick about my bruddas man. Happy for them, but man, I'm sick right now."
After Hall put these tweets out (before deleting them), Jordan Schultz reported that Hall wanted to be traded. He didn't get his wish before the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline and will remain with the Jets for the rest of the 2025 season.
Hall has appeared in eight games during the 2025 NFL season, compiling 117 carries for 681 yards and two touchdowns. He's in his fourth NFL season after the Jets selected him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Iowa State.
The Jets are coming off their bye week this past Sunday and are 1-7 heading into their next game against the Cleveland Browns this coming Sunday.
Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. ET.
