The Justin Fields era in New York has not gone according to plan.

He is 0-7 as the Jets' starting quarterback this year after they signed him to a two-year contract when free agency opened in March. Fields showed glimpses of his potential in 2024, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 4-2 record before Russell Wilson returned from injury, finishing with 1,106 yards through the air with five touchdowns and one interception.

Fields has struggled across every facet this year, leading Jets fans to call for head coach Aaron Glenn to make a quarterback change. Jets owner Woody Johnson told reporters on Tuesday that the quarterback decision is up to Glenn, and according to ESPN's Rich Cimini , Glenn is trending toward naming Tyrod Taylor his starter for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Taylor is the backup quarterback on the depth chart behind Fields and has played in three games this season, totaling 379 passing yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

This is Taylor's second season with the Jets after spending the previous two with the New York Giants. He has also spent time with the Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills.

The Jets are looking for any kind of spark after a disastrous start to the season. Their defense has given up 13 points in each of their last two games, but their offense can't even muster 14.

They're the only team in the league without a win this season, and they'll try to change that on Sunday against a 3-4 Bengals team that is fresh off a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who lead the AFC North with a 4-2 record.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET, and the game will be regionally televised by CBS. Spero Dedes and Adam Archuleta will have the call.
