After leading a 4-13 New York Jets squad in targets (77), receiving yards (538) and receiving touchdowns (five) during his 2021 rookie season, expectations were high for former second-round pick Elijah Moore this season yet low for the team. While the Jets are riding a three-game winning streak and enter Week 7 at 4-2, Moore has posted just 16 catches for 203 scoreless yards, and after seeing 21 targets in the first three weeks, he's received only eight looks since then (including none in Week 6).
After it was reported Thursday that Moore requested a trade , head coach Robert Saleh said Friday morning that it won't happen. The 22-year-old will not suit up this coming Sunday, however, either.

Saleh added that the wideout will stay in New Jersey as the rest of the team travels to face the Denver Broncos in Week 7. Furthermore, the coach said that things got to a "boiling point" on Thursday when Moore voiced his "displeasure," but he finds Moore's passion and desire for targets "admirable."
Prior to the report of his trade request but days after posting a cryptic tweet seeming to reference his lack of involvement in the offense, Moore was excused from practice on Thursday.
The Mississippi product's next possible chance to return to the field comes in Week 8, when New York hosts the New England Patriots at 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 30.
