Jets HC shows off 'Hard Knocks' T-shirt

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh may be coming around to the idea of having some extra cameras filming their training camp sessions this summer.

After much speculation, it was confirmed last week that the Jets would be this summer's featured team on HBO's "Hard Knocks." Saleh wasn't shy last month about his hopes for his team avoiding the role, but it seemed obvious that Gang Green would be a great pick to draw in viewers.

There are a host of reasons why New York was a good choice, but the main one among them was the April trade for future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Both Saleh and fellow new addition Allen Lazard spoke about what it's like having the four-time MVP on the squad. Saleh said it was like having a coach/player hybrid, while Lazard (another former Packers star) was asked if the Jets were employing a Green Bay offense now.

Wednesday was the first day of Jets training camp and there will be even more eyes watching this weekend. Tickets to attend the sessions went on sale Monday and sold out within minutes.

It was reported on Tuesday that the team was going to be denying certain access to the filming crew for the HBO reality series, and while all of those details aren't known, ESPN's Adam Schefter said that the franchise doesn't "believe it’s humane to show players being released."

The 2023 Jets training camp edition of "Hard Knocks" premieres on Aug. 8.
