Jets Host QBs Will Levis, Jack Plummer

After clearing waivers, Zappe became a free agent. He elected to remain in place with the Jets by signing a practice squad deal. He may not be on the only quarterback on New York’s taxi squad in short order, however.

The Jets conducted a workout with Will Levis and Jack Plummer on Thursday, Zack Rosenblatt of the Athletic reports. He adds a signing in either case would take the form of a practice squad spot. Levis in particular will be worth watching. His Titans run came to an end this weekend.

Levis asked to be let go instead of spending the final year of his rookie contract in Tennessee. The Titans will move forward with a Cam Ward–Mitch Trubisky tandem under center for 2026. Levis, meanwhile, finds himself in search of a new opportunity at the NFL level. The 27-year-old missed all of last season while recovering from shoulder surgery.

Levis totaled 21 starts during his first two Tennessee campaigns. The former second-rounder largely struggled when on the field, and the Titans have a much different decision-making group than the one which was in place when Levis was drafted. With both sides parting ways, it will be interesting to see how he fares with respect to lining up a new gig.

Plummer earned UFL MVP honors this spring. That has resulted in NFL interest, although no signing has taken place yet in the case of the former undrafted free agent. Plummer has seen time in the Panthers’ organization but he has yet to play a regular-season game in the NFL.
