With the NFL Draft under a week away, the New York Jets will be piecing together their board, with a list of top targets they want to draft.
For most, with the No. 7 pick, New York will be going offense, and it is just a matter of which position.
Given the lack of weapons for Justin Fields after Garrett Wilson, a receiver or tight end (hello, Mr. Warren) feels the logical move, but the offensive line, and in particular, right tackle, has been gathering momentum of late.
For Bleacher Report, in naming a nightmare scenario for the Jets, both top offensive linemen prospects are off the board before they pick.
"Will Campbell and Armand Membou both go off the board in the top six, leaving them with an offensive tackle void," Bleacher Report writes.
Given that the Jets' offensive line was solid for the most part last season, and only one position was seen as a need, New York might not see it as a "nightmare," given the franchise's need to give Fields more weapons.
Tight end Tyler Warren has been mocked to the Jets a lot by several outlets, so that might be the way to go as Fields finally gets some juice in the passing game and Wilson gets some help.
But if Campbell and Membou are off the board, there are still other tackles who the Jets could take. Josh Simmons, Kelvin Banks Jr., and Josh Conerly Jr. are the other top targets, however, taking them at No. 7 might be a big reach.
In the worst case, it might mean a trade back for the Jets to pick up more selections if they are truly narrowed in on taking a lineman.
Either way, it might not be as devastating for the Jets if Membou and Campbell are off the board based on their other offensive needs, plus the other linemen still available.
