Jets Major Move Up Hinges On Big 3

The New York Jets' offseason has seen the franchise largely move in silence, with Aaron Glenn not wanting any distractions, something that previous regimes couldn't get out of the way of.

With Justin Fields leading the offense under Tanner Engstrand, many are unsure of exactly what to expect from the Jets, given his lack of weapons.

For most, it is Garrett Wilson or bust in the passing game, with Breece Hall, Braelon Allen, and Isaiah Davis as his running backs.

However, is that enough?

For CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani, when ranking all AFC teams post-draft, he had New York at No. 13, and thinks the Jets' success in 2025 might hinge on Fields, Wilson, and Hall having big years.

"The Jets had Justin Fields in mind when they started the draft off with right tackle Armand Membou and tight end Mason Taylor," Dajani writes. "When it comes down to it, the Jets' 2025 season really hinges on this new quarterback. I have faith Aaron Glenn will have the defense ready to roll, so it's up to Fields, Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall and the new, young pieces on the offensive line when it comes to how competitive the Jets will be."

It is true that the offense will run through Wilson, and if Hall is still on the roster, he too.

But Fields has limited resources to work with, however, we know the talent that both Wilson and Hall possess, which means it will be up to others like Davis, draftee Mason Taylor and other receivers in Malachi Corley, Josh Reynolds and Allen Lazard (if he's on the roster) to help shoulder the load.

Not many expect big things from Glenn's Jets in 2025, but when they bank their wins, we imagine their key trio will have a big say.

Wilson reunites with his Ohio State teammate in Fields, and many hope that it can kickstart something positive, and with Hall looking to prove himself, maybe that trio will be at the center of everything good for the Jets in 2025.

Well, that is the hope, anyway.
