The New York Jets are turning the page into a new season without quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers spent a short time in New York in what many thought was the Jets' best chance at winning a Super Bowl in years when they acquired the NFL legend.
Now, Rodgers will serve as the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Jets will enter the season with a brand-new signal-caller.
Justin Fields will serve as the starter for New York.
Just before the season begins, and the Jets will coincidentally play the Steelers in Week 1, New York stamped its approval on Fields, making him a captain on offense.
"Jets captains are QB Justin Fields, RG Alijah Vera-Tucker and WR Garrett Wilson on offense, LB Jamien Sherwood and Quinnen Williams on defense, and LB Marcelino McCrary-Ball on special teams," ESPN reporter Adam Schefter posted.

Justin Fields received the nod to be a New York Jets team captain in his first year with the team, proving he has taken the necessary steps to lead New York.
He'll be playing for his third team in the NFL, having previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Bears.
Fields was once considered a top prospect. He was taken in the first round by Chicago in the 2021 NFL Draft, but his professional career hasn't panned out how many thought it would after a great college football career with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Justin Fields started six games, passing for five touchdowns and 1,106 yards with a 65.8 completion percentage. He also added 289 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
Fields began the season as a starter while Russell Wilson rehabbed through an injury and was ultimately moved to the backup position for the remainder of the season when Wilson returned.
