Jets' Mason Taylor Details Improved Chemistry With Justin Fields: 'Create That Trust!'

New York Jets rookie tight end Mason Taylor is having himself a good start to life in the NFL, hitting the ground running at training camp.

More known for his blocking in college than his ability to catch the football, it is clear he's worked on that this offseason, and the results have shown up on the practice field.

In three straight days, Taylor and Fields connected for a touchdown as the pair's chemistry appears to be in great shape early on, right?

"I believe so," Taylor said. "All that is, is time in practice and you create that trust being in the right place at the right time. Coming out here on the practice field, there's no better way of doing it. So, coming out here with the right mindset of showing what I could do for this team is really important day-to-day."

With the weapons at Tanner Engstrand's disposal, which consist of Garrett Wilson, Josh Reynolds, and Allen Lazard as the big three, others like Taylor, Arian Smith, Malachi Corley, and Xavier Gipson will have to step up.

To do that, Fields has to have trust in them to be where they are supposed to be on any given route, and while it is early in camp, it appears that his trust in Taylor is exactly where to should be.

Expected to be a key part of the offense, Taylor has had a good start to camp. Now he has to maintain it, so when the regular season rolls around, New York's starting tight end can wreak some havoc.
