Jets Offseason Plans A Perfectly Clear Fit for Aaron Glenn Agenda

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey have gone about their business this offseason with a clear directive - they are looking long term.

With the mess to be cleaned up after the Aaron Rodgers era beginning, free agency didn't see veterans come in to help stabilize the franchise; it was a youthful-looking group that walked through the doors.

That gives the Jets some long-term thinking about how they will turn this ship around.

And for Pro Football Focus, the biggest takeaway from the Jets' offseason has been the manner in which Glenn and Co. have approached the rebuild.

"The Jets’ new regime has made it clear that their focus is on sustainable, long-term growth, and their draft strategy reflected that vision," Pro Football Focus writes. "Each of their first three picks — Armand Membou, Mason Taylor and Azareye'h Thomas — will be just 21 years old throughout their entire rookie season, giving the coaching staff a young, moldable foundation to build around.

"It’s a class that may not generate instant headlines, but one that fits perfectly into a methodical, long-term plan to reshape the Jets’ roster."

With Membou and Taylor, the Jets got Justin Fields, two young starting players to help consolidate what is already on the roster.

Defensively, the Jets still have some nice pieces, with Quinnen Williams the main destroyer, but again, New York will have a youthful look to it in 2025, which is by design.

It won't be all smooth sailing as a result, but Glenn is using the 2025 season to lay what he hopes will be a rock-solid foundation for building the franchise in his image over the next couple of seasons.

This won't be a quick fix, and the Jets' offseason moves point to a clear long-term plan, with a youth movement at the heart of it.
