The Jets could soon be getting some reinforcement at wide receiver. According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini , the team opened the practice window for wideout Tim Patrick.
Patrick suffered a groin injury that landed him on IR just before the regular season. The Jets now have 21 days to activate the veteran to their 53-man roster.
The former UDFA out of Utah made a name for himself with the Broncos, where he tallied 104 catches for 1,476 yards and 11 touchdowns between the 2020 and 2021 seasons. His 2022 (ACL) and 2023 (achilles) campaigns were completely wiped out, but he emerged with the Lions in 2024 and hauled in 33 catches for 394 yards. He spent the 2025 campaign in Jacksonville, where he added another 15 catches to his resume.
Patrick joined the Jets back in May on a one-year, $2MM deal. The team could use some help at the position with first-round rookie Omar Cooper Jr. on injured reserve and Adonai Mitchell nursing a finger injury. The team’s current healthy depth consists of Garrett Wilson, Isaiah Williams, Jamaal Pritchett, and Malik McClain.
