Wilson has been sidelined since undergoing knee surgery in mid-August. The second-year pro missed four games during the 2021 campaign due to a knee injury, giving way to a rotating group of signal-callers, including Joe Flacco, Mike White and Josh Johnson.
Flacco has started the first three games of the 2022 season, leading the Jets to a 1-2 record. The Super Bowl XLVII MVP has posted a career-low 58.7% completion percentage in his short time as starter this year with a league-high 155 pass attempts, tossing for 901 passing yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions.
In New York's Week 1 and Week 3 losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals respectively, Flacco recorded quarterback ratings of 74.8 and 53.8 with one touchdown and three interceptions and was sacked a combined seven times. In the Week 2 victory against the Cleveland Browns, Flacco posted a 110.7 quarterback rating with four touchdowns and no interceptions and was sacked twice.
The No. 2 overall pick in 2021, Wilson posted a 55.6% completion percentage with 2,334 passing yards, nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions across 13 games (all starts) last season, while adding 29 carries for 185 yards and four scores.
