Jets re-sign DB Lamarcus Joyner to one-year deal

Lamarcus Joyner's first season with the New York Jets didn't go as planned. The 31-year-old has decided to run it back with Gang Green in 2022, according to multiple reports.

Prior to the 2021 campaign in which he was placed on injured reserve with an elbow injury after Week 1, Joyner had played in at least 10 games in each of his first seven NFL seasons, and at least 12 contests every year since he was a rookie. Joyner spent 2014 to 2018 with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams and 2019 and 2020 with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders.

The former second-round pick signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Jets in March 2021. In 96 career regular-season games, Joyner has recorded 421 tackles and 33 passes defended.

Joyner's best season statistically was arguably 2017, when he recorded career-highs in passes defended (nine) and interceptions (three), while registering the only pick-six of his career as well. In 2018, he picked up a career-best 78 tackles during his final season with the Rams.
