Jets’ Sauce Gardner has a cheeky response to talks of Aaron Rodgers potentially running for Vice President

The news of Rodgers likely to make his debut in politics came as a shock to everyone across the internet and the NFL. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s campaign representation confirmed the news to The Post, saying Kennedy is highly “ considering Aaron Rodgers and Jesse Ventura as running mates .”

However, neither Rodgers nor the Jets have made any official statement or comment regarding this news. But seeing how Kennedy has been in touch with the future Hall of Famer continuously for the past month suggests that Rodgers is pretty much on board with the new career endeavor. 

Aaron Rodgers’ Vice Presidential candidacy might change his NFL plans

This Vice President candidacy comes as a major conflict for the Jets’ starting quarterback. As it contradicts his goal in the NFL before retirement. In a recent interview, Rodgers said he plans to play “two or three or four more years” in the NFL as the starting quarterback. 

His current contract with the Jets is through 2025 and set to make $35 million in salary as well as bonuses this season with the franchise. Ever since Rodgers suffered the grave torn Achilles injury, which kept him out for the entire season, there has been a lot of talk about his retirement. Nonetheless, Rodgers has remained optimistic about his return to the football field as Jets starting quarterback. 

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Jets fans have seen presidential politics associated with the franchise. Earlier, owner Woody Johnson was seen with Donald Trump, another presidential candidate, at his rally after the win in South Carolina.
